Emergency Lighting Brisbane

As part of our fire protection services, we provide exit light periodic inspection, testing, tube replacement and cleaning as per Australian Standard 2293.2.

These routine 6 and 12 monthly procedures ensure that relevant compliance requirements are being met, accurately recorded and conducted.

A manual discharge test to simulate power failure is carried out on each 6 & 12 monthly routine tests. The light must stay illuminated for no less than 90 minutes to be in working order.

Emergency exit lights are essential in case of an emergency in your workplace. These lights illuminate exits and ensure staff and visitors can find their way to an exit easily, even in conditions of low visibility.

We know where you need lights and what kind of lights you need, so you don’t have to worry.

Fire Extinguishers

Fire Extinguishers

Fire extinguishers, fire blankets & fire hose reels are required to be serviced every six (6) months as per Australian Standard 1851-2012. In addition, pressure testing is required at 5 year periods on all types of extinguishers.

Fire extinguishers are vital to control the spread of fire in an emergency situation and are required by law to be installed in Queensland workplaces. Many businesses employ our services for periodic fire extinguisher testing to ensure compliance and peace of mind.

Hydrants and Hose Reels

Hydrants & Hose Reels

Our services for hydrants and hose reels includes Inspection, Test & Preventative maintenance to Australian Standards 1851-2012.

A part of our fire protection services is six (6) monthly inspections of hydrants and hose reels to assess for damage and that the hydrant/hose reel is clear of obstructions.

Fire hydrants and fire hose reel systems also assist in preventing serious fires, by providing a strong jet of water to douse flames.

Fire Detection and Alarm Systems

Fire Detection and Alarm Systems

Fire detection systems are required to be tested on a regular monthly, 6 monthly & annual basis in accordance with Australian Standard 1851-2012.

Fire and smoke detectors are the most vital pieces of fire protection equipment, as they detect the first signs of a fire and can alert you to the problem long before you would notice it otherwise. Therefore it’s essential that these systems work correctly. Rather than wondering when the next testing should take place, our services can ensure the regular maintenance and testing of your systems. This ensures that you are up to standard in Queensland.

Our fire safety systems can also be maintained by our expert technicians with ease. As part of our fire protection services, we provide monthly testing for all fire alarm panels to ensure that everything is functioning properly.

Fire Assessments and Training

Fire Assessments & Training

We also offer fire assessment services for your building or workplace in Brisbane. In Queensland the building occupier is required by law to employ a qualified person to assess essential safety systems annually, including fire systems.

Brisbane Fire Services conducts our building and site compliance surveys in accordance with the QCD MP6.1 and Australian Standards 1851:2012. The survey provides you with details on your level of compliance for equipment already installed and current regulations.

It includes an assessment of the fire equipment present in your building and also identification of any additional equipment you may require to be compliant to relevant Australian Standards and Building Regulations.

These reports can help you get your fire safety certification, and also help us identify what fire safety equipment is needed in your premises.

On top of this, we offer fire safety training for your and your staff. Some of the training courses we provide include: First Response (First Attack) Fire Training, General Occupant Training, Site Evacuation Exercises,  Emergency Procedures, Manuals & Plans, and Fire Safety Adviser (FSA) Representation.
